We’re excited to announce a new addition to the SEED Open Data Portal – the Earth Observation Water Toolkit!
We’re excited to announce a new addition to the SEED Open Data Portal – the Earth Observation Water Toolkit!
This open-source toolkit is based on Google Earth Engine (GEE) and provides an efficient algorithm for mapping water surface area time-series in waterbodies using Landsat and Sentinel-2 imagery. Developed as part of our commitment to leveraging remote sensing technology for water management, this toolkit enables you to extract water surface area data over time for input waterbody polygons.
? Why this matters:
- Helps monitor water surface area changes over time in waterbodies.
- Enables better water management decisions using open-source satellite data.
- Supports researchers, policy-makers, and developers in using advanced remote sensing tools.
