Water Modelling – Modelled Data – Regional Water Strategy Assets
We’re pleased to announce the release of seven new Water Modelling – Modelled Data – Regional Water Strategy datasets on the SEED Open Data Portal, joining the Lachlan dataset already available.
These datasets provide modelled daily streamflow and storage volume data for NSW river systems under a wide range of climate conditions:
- Instrumental climate (~130 years)
- Paleo-stochastic climate (~10,000 years)
- Paleo-stochastic climate with NARCliM 1.0 projections (~10,000 years)
Each dataset package includes:

- Three CSV time series files
Catchments now available include:
Bega | Richmond | Clarence | Bellinger | Macleay | Tweed | Tuross | Lachlan

Why It Matters
These datasets form a transparent evidence base to:
- Support Regional Water Strategies across NSW
- Help utilities, councils, and industries plan for droughts and floods
- Provide researchers with data for testing and comparison
- Enable communities to understand their local river futures and advocate for priorities
